Common Questions

Residential Respite: quick answers

How is respite care paid for?

Respite is usually funded through Ohio programs such as DODD waivers when it is included in the person's service plan, rather than billed directly to families. Your Service & Support Administrator (SSA) can confirm what is authorized, and we are glad to help you sort it out.

How do I get respite care started?

Call us or send a request. We will learn what you need, confirm what is authorized with your SSA or county board, match staff, and schedule the stay. We respond to every request within one business day.

Can you support someone with complex needs during respite?

We have experience supporting individuals who need higher levels of assistance, such as mobility support, Hoyer lift transfers, seizure precautions, and feeding-related support. Support is matched to the person's authorized plan and to staff trained for that need.
